Task

A buyer who is about to hire a small studio often looks up the person behind it. Vitalii Tarasov, who founded VITON13, needed one address that answers that search: everything he has made in one place, with client work, the studio’s own products and concept sites each labelled for what it is, and every figure shown with its source.

The site had to speak the languages his clients read, English, Russian, Spanish and Chinese, and it had to be a way to reach him. A visitor who likes a case should be able to write to him from the page, signed in with the VITON ID account used across viton13.com, or leave an email without creating any account.

What we did

Eight kinds of page in each of four language editions: home, the work index, a page for each of the 21 works, about, services, latest, contact and messages, plus a 404. That comes to 116 HTML files; the 108 pages meant for search are listed in the sitemap, and messages and the 404 are kept out of it. English sits at the root, the other editions under /ru/, /es/ and /zh/.

The 21 works are one client site, ten of VITON13’s own products and ten concepts. Eight concept sites also open as live demos under /demos/, each marked noindex. A case page carries the project’s figures with their sources, an SEO review where one was run and a “What this does not prove” block; a filter on the work index sorts the works into websites, SEO, design and brand, products and film.

The home page opens on a silent 20-second loop of the showreel, and the play button opens the full film: 47.6 seconds at 1920×1080 and 60 fps. Messages open in a sheet over any page: sign-in or registration with VITON ID, a private thread with Vitalii, an email form for guests and, for him, an inbox of every conversation.

How it works

The site is plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript produced by a static generator written in Node: every page is rendered in advance for each language, so a search crawler reads the full text without running scripts. Motion runs on GSAP with ScrollTrigger and Lenis smooth scrolling and is switched off when the visitor’s system asks for reduced motion. Fonts, scripts and the Firebase SDK are served from the site’s own domain, and the Content-Security-Policy header allows scripts and fonts from nowhere else.

Accounts and chat run on Firebase Auth and Firestore, in the same project as VITON ID. The Firestore rules for the chat are one self-contained block, covered by tests in the Firebase emulator, so adding them to the live rules loosens nothing else. A small Node API takes the guest form with a limit of 5 messages an hour and 20 a day from one address, and accepts a notification request only with a valid Firebase ID token.

The showreel is a web page with a renderFrame(t) function: headless Chrome draws each of its 2,856 frames and ffmpeg encodes them to H.264 and VP9, with 720p versions and seamless loops for the home page. It shows real covers of the sites and SB Excursions’ Search Console figures with their period and source. The site runs in Docker on our own server behind nginx; every configuration change is checked with nginx -t and rolled back if it fails, and the Let’s Encrypt certificate was issued on 23 September 2026.

What exists now

tarasovvitalii.com is live in four languages. On 24 September 2026 Lighthouse 13 gave the home page 99 for performance and 100 for accessibility, best practices and SEO on both mobile and desktop. On mobile the page loads in 25 requests and 1.6 MB, all from its own domain, with LCP at 2.0 s, no blocking time and no layout shift.

The same day all 108 sitemap pages were rendered in Chrome at 390 px. Each has one H1, a self-referencing canonical URL, hreflang to the four editions and x-default, Open Graph and JSON-LD; all 872 images carry an alt attribute (empty on thumbnails shown beside their titles), no page scrolls sideways, and 182 internal link targets returned no errors.

What this does not prove

This is the founder’s own site, built by VITON13 for itself, not a client project. It went live on 23 September 2026, so there is no traffic, ranking or enquiry data yet, and this case claims none. A page in the sitemap is an invitation to crawl, not proof that it is indexed.

The Lighthouse scores are lab tests of the home page on one day; a second desktop run minutes later gave 95 for performance. Access from mainland China was not tested, and the chat depends on Google’s Firebase services. The search figures inside the showreel belong to the SB Excursions case, not to this site.

SEO review

On 24 September 2026 Lighthouse 13 gave the home page 99 for performance and 100 for accessibility, best practices and SEO on mobile and desktop, with LCP at 2.0 s on mobile and 0.6 s on desktop. All 108 sitemap pages, rendered at 390 px, have a self-referencing canonical URL, hreflang to the four editions and x-default, Open Graph and JSON-LD.

Checked on 24 September 2026: 108 pages rendered in Chrome the way a search crawler sees them, plus Lighthouse 13 on the home page.

In place: one H1 on 108 of 108 pages, the languages declared as en, ru, es and zh-Hans, no sideways scroll at 390 px on any page, an alt attribute on all 872 images (empty on thumbnails shown beside their titles), 0 broken links among 182 internal targets, sitemap.xml with language alternates, robots.txt and llms.txt; on mobile the home page sends 1.6 MB in 25 requests, all to its own domain. Partly in place: 107 of 108 titles are unique, 103 of 108 are 30–65 characters long and 93 of 108 descriptions are 70–170 characters long.

To fix next: a Chinese title for the Studio Reels case, which repeats the English one; longer descriptions for the 15 Chinese pages under 70 characters (Chinese says more per character, so the range is only a rough guide there) and titles for the five pages outside 30–65 characters; and on the home page, the unused CSS (about 21 KB of 27 KB) and JavaScript (about 33 KB of 65 KB) that Lighthouse flags, the render-blocking stylesheet and lighter images for phones, where it estimates about 318 KB of savings. A second desktop run minutes later scored 95 for performance, so the desktop figure moves between runs.
