How much does event videography cost? Half-day, full-day and same-day edit prices

In the 2026 price lists we read, a day of event filming costs about $1,100 to $3,000 before editing, and a corporate event with a finished recap $1,500 to $6,000. A full-day conference recap runs $5,000 to $15,000 or more at D-MAK. VITON13 makes an event aftermovie from $53.

How much does event videography cost?

Quotes arrive as an hourly rate, a half-day or full-day rate, or a package, and many leave editing out. Turn each into one figure: filming plus the finished videos you receive. The table lists price pages we opened on 2026-10-04, in the currency each prints.

What makes a full day cost more than a half day?

Hours are only the first lever. Each person on site adds a day of labour, and each hour filmed adds editing time later.

  • Coverage window: Kolkey sets a half day at 4 hours and a day at 8, then charges $125 and $95 an hour beyond them. Essex counts 3.6 and 7.2 hours.
  • Crew size: Kolkey prices two videographers at $450 an hour, twice its single-camera rate of $225. Argus HD puts a second shooter or assistant at $75–$150 an hour.
  • Cameras: Argus HD adds $250–$800 for each extra camera setup.
  • Evenings and weekends: Essex charges £100–£300 more on its event packages, and Argus HD bills extra hours separately.
  • Audio: D-MAK says budgets grow here, with keynote feeds, panel microphones, a board feed from the venue’s AV desk and a backup recorder.

Highlight reel, full recording or social clips: which costs more?

Raw files are the cheapest output, a session recording comes next, and a story-led recap takes the most editing. Put the deliverables in the quote with lengths and formats.

What each event deliverable asks for, with published price signals
DeliverableWhat it needsPrice signal
Raw files or a straight-through recordingClean audio, one or two fixed camerasD-MAK: lower editing cost, not campaign-ready; Kolkey lists filming from $795

Vertical social clipsPlanned on the day, then cut and captionedArgus HD: $200–$1,000 per clip; Kolkey: simple edits $295–$495
Same-day editAn editor on site and a screening deadlineArgus HD adds $300–$1,500; D-MAK: high impact
Argus HD and Kolkey describe their own work; D-MAK’s table is a general guide.

What does a same-day edit actually need?

Dream Engine, a Melbourne studio, describes a same-day edit as video filmed, edited and delivered during the event, usually for the closing session. Its worked example used three people: a camera operator, a camera assistant and an on-site editor. The assistant carried a selected batch of footage to the editor every couple of hours, and the file reached the venue’s AV team about an hour before the screening.

That staffing explains the surcharge. Argus HD lists $300–$1,500 for same-day or rush editing, and Skimbox puts premium full-day coverage with same-day editing at AED 12,000 and up. Dream Engine calls its schedule an illustration, not a promised turnaround, and asks for a fallback cut in case a session runs late and one person who approves the edit.

Which extras do quotes leave out: drone, livestream, venue and travel?

  • Drone: Argus HD lists $300–$1,500 and warns that permits and location rules matter. For Dubai, our guide to video production costs there covers permits and drone rules.
  • Livestream: Argus HD lists $800–$3,000 on top of filming, and D-MAK says it adds technical crew, gear and testing.
  • Venue: D-MAK lists AV board feeds, lighting and access limits; Argus HD adds permits and parking.
  • Travel: outside the videographer’s home market, transport, hotel and meals are extra, according to Argus HD.

What would a one-day, one-room conference cost?

Assume six hours on site, two cameras, a 2–4 minute highlight film and a full-session edit, with no drone or livestream. The totals are our arithmetic on the published lists, not quotes.

One conference day by route (arithmetic on published prices)
RouteArithmeticTotal
Kolkey, two videographers$900 for 2 hours + 4 × $450, plus a $595–$795 highlight edit and a $795+ conference edit$4,090–$4,290+
Essex Media Centre, UKHighlights package, up to 7.2 hours, two videographers, three days of editing£1,000 (£1,200 evenings and weekends)
Argus HD, San FranciscoDay package with filming and editing$3,200; the firm calls $2,000–$4,500 realistic
A Brighter Path, CharlotteFull-day package with a brand video and a 5-minute event video$5,000
D-MAK, PhoenixIndustry range for a full-day conference recap$5,000–$15,000+
Currencies, scopes and market sizes differ. Taxes, travel and music licences are left out.

The spread runs from £1,000 to $15,000 or more for broadly the same day, driven by crew, editing depth, market and supplier type.

Starting prices of VITON13 packages; the written scope confirms duration, locations, rights and price after the brief.

The aftermovie takes 3–5 working days. It is a starting price for a written scope, not an hourly or day crew rate, so compare it with the table by that scope: what is filmed, in which formats, and with which rights.

What should you ask before booking?

  1. How many hours are covered, and what is the rate after them?
  2. How many people and cameras are on site, and who records audio?
  3. Which finished videos do I receive: lengths, formats, captions?
  4. How many revision rounds are included, and who approves the cut?
  5. Is a same-day edit possible, and what is the fallback if a session runs late?
  6. Are raw files delivered, and for how long are they stored?
  7. Which music licence applies, and does it cover every platform I will post on?
  8. Who writes the attendee notice, and how do guests opt out?
  9. Who handles venue access, parking and permits?
  10. What are the deposit and cancellation terms? Kolkey, for example, asks for a 25% non-refundable deposit.

When is a full crew not worth it?

  • A short presentation or small internal update: Dream Engine says a standard recording may suit better than a highlights edit.
  • You mainly need stills: Essex lists a photographer at £225 for a half day and £450 for a full day.
  • No date, run sheet or approver yet: a crew cannot plan the moments that cannot be recreated.
  • No music licence or attendee notice: the recap would stay in a folder.

How VITON13 handles an event video

The service page lists three outputs: an event coverage plan, on-site filming, and an aftermovie with social cuts. The plan starts from the moments that cannot be recreated, such as audience reaction, keynote proof and sponsor visibility, and the written scope fixes duration, locations, rights, formats, exclusions and acceptance before production. In the AI-assisted mode AI supports the editing and a person checks every cut against the footage; in the human-led mode a person leads the edit and AI assists.

No published event video case yet

VITON13 has not yet published an event video with a client’s attendance, views or sales figures, so this guide invents none. Every number comes from a price page cited below or from the arithmetic shown. A first pilot can start with one representative scene, and it will appear here with the client’s approval.

What this does not prove

  • The one-day budget is arithmetic on published price lists. It does not show what your event will cost or what the video will do for registrations or sales.

Questions and answers

How much does a videographer cost per hour for an event?

Published hourly rates here run from $225 (Kolkey, and Argus HD’s own example) to $350 (A Brighter Path, two-hour minimum). Day rates are cheaper per hour: Kolkey’s half day works out to about $199 an hour and its full day to about $137.

Does the price include editing?

Not always. Kolkey lists filming and editing separately, A Brighter Path sells filming-only and edited packages, and Essex and Argus HD bundle both into a day package. Ask for the number of finished videos, their lengths and the revision rounds. VITON13’s event package includes 1 revision round on the deliverables.

What should I send before asking for quotes?

Send the date, venue, run sheet and the three moments that matter most; Dream Engine and D-MAK both ask for the run of show first. Same-day work also needs the screening time and one approver. VITON13 also asks for the claim the video must prove and the formats you need.

Can I reuse the footage in ads or next year’s promotion?

Only if the licence says so. D-MAK lists footage for paid campaigns or future promotion as a cost driver, so get channels, territory and duration in writing. Music and attendee permission are separate: France’s Service-Public page says a new use needs fresh agreement. This is not legal advice.

Is a phone or a simple recording enough for my event?

For a short presentation or a small internal update, often yes: Dream Engine says a standard recording or highlights video may be more practical than a same-day edit, which needs extra crew. Book a crew when the event cannot be repeated and the footage will leave the room.

How is the VITON13 price different from a day rate?

A day rate buys people and equipment for hours. The VITON13 event aftermovie starts from $53 AI-assisted or $73 human-led for a written scope that states what is filmed, in which formats, and with which rights.
