How to sell on Ozon in 2026: who can register, what it costs and which scheme to pick

Who can sell on Ozon in 2026: a company, a sole proprietor or a self-employed person?

Ozon's seller help, read on 1 October 2026, names three groups; the limits decide what each may sell.

A self-employed seller who becomes a sole proprietor ends the old contract and opens a new cabinet. One INN and KPP (Russian tax and registration numbers) can hold up to ten cabinets, but no product may appear in two.

Can a foreign company or a non-resident sell on Ozon, and what is Ozon Global?

A foreign company can; a foreign individual cannot. Ozon signs self-employed contracts only with Russian citizens, and its system rejects a non-resident's bank account. Foreign companies use Ozon Global, a cross-border programme with its own help centre.

• The help centre has pages for China, UAE, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Belarus and “Other countries”; the sign-up form decides whom Ozon takes. Companies from 11 listed countries, such as Iran, Cuba and Syria, cannot register.
• You provide the registration number, legal name in Latin letters, address, bank details and registration documents.
• Ozon checks you under Government Decree No. 768 of 20 June 2026. Its UAE and China pages allow up to 15 working days, and on the UAE route you may upload products meanwhile.
• Settlement is in EUR or RUB for European countries, USD or RUB for the rest, with up to 6 accounts per business licence.

Your own country's sanctions and payment rules apply whatever Ozon accepts.

How do you register and verify an Ozon seller account, step by step?

1. Sign upOn seller.ozon.ru press “Become a seller” and enter a phone number, which becomes your Ozon ID. Registration is free.
2. Describe the businessChoose the country, organisation type and whether you sell goods or represent a brand. Add a store name and main categories; they do not limit what you can list.
3. Verify your dataOzon cites Law 289-FZ and Government Decree No. 768. Self-employed sellers and sole proprietors can log in through Gosuslugi, the state services portal, and pass at once. Anyone can instead pay 1 ruble (about $0.01) from the business bank account, taking 10 minutes to 4 days.
4. Send the detailsMost fields fill in from your INN, and Ozon says it reviews them within 15 minutes. You can draft cards meanwhile; they reach moderation after the offer is accepted.
5. Accept the offerYour first action in the cabinet accepts it. The contract sits under Settings, then Requisites and contract.

Ozon says sales can start on the day you register; a slow bank can add days.

FBO, FBS or realFBS: which scheme fits a first shipment?

You can combine schemes. On FBO and FBS Ozon sets the delivery area, Russia and eight other countries. FBS needs no electronic document exchange (EDO); on FBO it is required only for jewellery, a few warehouses, Mercury-certified goods and marked goods under the “UPD before supply” scheme.

Our rule for a newcomer: start on FBS with a few units, learn the real costs, then move proven products to FBO. For most categories FBO storage is free for at least 120 days, then charged per litre per day.

How much does Ozon take from each sale?

Commission is a percentage of your price, set by category, product type and scheme. It is booked when the order reaches “Delivered”, returned if the buyer sends the item back, and not charged on a cancellation. Logistics, card acquiring, storage after the free period, returns and ads come on top.

Cheap items have their own rate: since 28 August 2026 goods up to 100 rubles (about $1.20) pay 17% and goods from 101 to 300 rubles pay 23% on FBO and FBS. On FBS, handing goods over before the recommended slot cuts the commission by 3%.

Tariffs move often: Ozon's FBO delivery page lists six tariff windows since 16 June 2026, the latest starting on 30 October. Under Law 289-FZ Ozon must now give 45 days' notice before raising sale tariffs or mandatory services.

What must an Ozon product card contain to pass moderation?

Pick the exact category and type: some categories carry a lock icon and need access before you list. Fill the 10-digit TN VED code, barcode, weight and dimensions, and make the brand, model and article match your documents. A card that disagrees with its documents is a listed reason for hiding it.

When does Chestny Znak marking apply to your goods?

The state decides which goods are marked; Ozon applies the rule. Clothing, footwear, perfumery and photographic equipment are among the groups today. Ozon reads your TN VED code to decide whether a card needs a code, and a marked item without one cannot be sold. Check your code on the Chestny Znak site before you buy stock. This is not legal advice.

• Only companies and sole proprietors not on NPD may sell marked goods.
• Register in Chestny Znak and enter the GTIN in the card.
• Set “Units in one product” to match the codes on the pack. Ozon's example: a pack of 18 nappies with one code is entered as 1; entering 18 means the warehouse cannot accept it.
• From 1 October 2026 Ozon checks documents for goods needing certification, a declaration, registration or marking. New cards without them cannot go live; live cards stay visible meanwhile.

What should the first 30 days on Ozon look like?

1. Days 1–3: choose 5 to 10 products. For each, note the category, TN VED code, marking status and the quality documents it needs.
2. Days 3–7: register, verify and draft cards with compliant photos.
3. Week 2: create the FBS warehouse and wait for it to activate, about 2 working days, before you enter stock; or plan a first FBO supply.
4. Weeks 3–4: hand over each FBS order within 24 hours, answer buyers, and read the reason for every card Ozon takes off sale.
5. Day 30: compare what Ozon charged with your price calculation. Set a floor price so promotions cannot push a product below it (it lasts 30 days), and decide which products move to FBO.

Which mistakes get cards hidden or eat the margin, and when should you wait?

• Wrong category or type. Listing a product outside its locked category counts as a violation.
• A card that differs from its documents in model, article or brand spelling. Ozon's example: “Loreal” versus “L'Oréal”.
• No brand documents. Ozon may block every product of that brand.
• Stock entered before the warehouse is active. The site shows “sold out” until you zero and re-enter it.
• A sharp price change. The product can fall into “price quarantine” and stay hidden until you fix the price.
• Pricing on commission alone, which ignores logistics, acquiring, returns and storage.
• No stock plan. An FBS warehouse left empty or unused for more than 30 days is deactivated.
